To kick off Valentine’s Day, residents from The Inn and Gardens enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast. Rafael, the assisted living Dining Manager, was cooking up fresh pancakes and then topping them with strawberries or blueberries. It was the perfect treat to start off Valentine’s Day!
The Inn and Gardens had their annual Black and White Dinner at the end of January. The kitchen staff dressed the part and served up a delicious meal that included lobster tails! The residents loved this special resident choice meal.

This month the residents voted on having a delicious Oktoberfest menu that included brats with sauerkraut, cheese blintz with apples and warm German potato salad. It was delicious! Following a long standing tradition here at The Fountains, we all celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a yummy breakfast, including Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles, fresh Fruit, assorted Churros and Mexican Pastries. The beautiful morning on the Catalina patio was the perfect setting for the Mariachi band that provided enjoyable entertainment.
Dining Services Director John Luzader demostrated his culinary talents by making chocolate truffles for a popular Watermark University class offering. Attendees not only learned the intricate process of creating these delicious chocolate treats, they were lucky enough to eat them too!
Last we held our Annual Passover Seder, retelling the Passover story and celebrating our freedom and independence. Cantor Janece Cohen officiated the Seder having many residents read from the Haggadah. Fountains resident Bernie Greenapple chanted the blessing over the first cup of wine. A traditional meal was served including delicious chocolate covered matzah for dessert!
At the last food service meeting the residents at The Inn requested an Italian themed menu, complete with tableside wine service! The Spaghetti and Tiramisu were a hit! It was such a great night thanks to John and Rafael in dining.
To celebrate the rodeo the reisdents decided to eat like a cowboy for their choice meal. With mouth watering ribs, chili, cornbread, beans and then a delicious chocolate cream pie who wouldn’t love this meal? The Community Life girls also passed out beer or root beer. It was a rootin’ tootin’ good time y’all!
