We departed from The Fountains on Thursday morning heading south on our overnight adventure to Tubac, a small town at the base of the Santa Rita Mountains. We arrived at the artisan community just in time for lunch with ample time to explore the many shops and galleries. We arranged our overnight stay at The Tubac Golf Resort which is located on the historic 500-acre Otero Ranch in the Santa Cruz River Valley. Our accommodations were excellent. There were trails, birding, a spa, a restaurant and fitness center. We dined at Stables which is known throughout Southern Arizona for its ambiance, cuisine, service and amazing views. The next morning we headed off to The Mission San Jose de Tumacacori, where we had a private tour with Melanie Rawlins a National Park Ranger. After an informative tour we returned to Tubac for a delicious lunch before returning home.
