Residents had a great cultural experience during their trip to the Yume Japanese Gardens. Yume means “dream” in Japanese and as residents strolled through the gardens it certainly lived up to its name. Throughout the garden, there was a traditional Japanese tea house where many of the residents talked about their experiences and thoughts about the simple elegance that the Japanese culture has. Residents watched the fish at the coy pond and talked about the different uses of bamboo as they were immersed in the bamboo garden. At the end of the garden tour, there was a shady resting spot where everyone shared their thoughts and many shared their memories of visiting Japan.
