Over fifty of us traveled to Mt. Lemmon leaving behind the 100 degree plus temperatures in Tucson for the cool and comfortable 78 degrees in Rose Canyon on Mt. Lemmon. The pines were aromatic, the air crisp and the sky the bluest of blues without a cloud in sight. We had a delicious picnic lunch, tuna and spinach sandwiches, vegetable wraps, colorful chicken wraps, cold salads, cookies and fresh fruit. Thanks to Don Plummer we played an enlightening game of trivia! We learned about the history of Mt. Lemmon, and the interesting fact that it is named for Sarah Lemmon, a botanist who frequently visited the mountain with her husband.
