A very smart great horned owl (Bubo virginianus), also known as the tiger owl or the hoot owl, has chosen tour community to nest and raise her owlet… and we couldn’t be happier! There are gatherings of residents most mornings and evenings to catch a glimpse of this magnificent bird. We are so very lucky to have an abundance of nature visiting frequently, this has definitely been one of the more spectacular “guests”. As a result of interest and curiosity we will be offering a Watermark University class about the Great Horned Owl on July 2, 2019. The presentation will be led by a knowledgeable docent from the Tucson Desert Museum.
